Lenten Project: Chalice for Haiti

Chalice is a Catholic charity based in Nova Scotia.  This organization has been rated one of the top charities in International Aid and Development over the past several years. As you know, your child has brought home a can to collect money to support the economic challenges in Haiti.  Our students seem very excited over this very worthy cause, so thank you in advance for helping our school collect a substantial donation. The cans are due back on April 3rd, the Tuesday after Easter.


Diefenbooker Challenge:

Help us Lead in Literacy Organizers of the Diefenbooker Run have included a new program to encourage school participation. A trophy and a cash prize of $2000 will be awarded to the school that has the largest percentage of its population participate in the Diefenbooker either in an event or as a volunteer.  This race is on Saturday, May 5th for runners, walkers and cyclists of all ages.


March Break and Summer Camps

Registration is now open for all 2018 March Break camps and summer camps. Our Continuing & Community Education Department offers a wide variety of exciting spring youth art classes, and camp programs across the city. There is also a free summer International Languages program (for students in JK Grade 8) offered at a number of our school sites.            

Preparing your child for grade 9

Report Cards/Parent Teacher Interviews

Report cards go home on Monday, February 12th and we will hold Parent Teacher Interviews on Thursday,February 15th from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to request an interview to address any questions or concerns. Please call the school to arrange an interview time.

Organizers of the Diefenbooker Run have included a new program to encourage school participation.  A trophy and a cash prize of $2000 will be awarded to the school that has the largest percentage of its population participate in the Diefenbooker either in an event or as a volunteer.

Training Program: When slightly warmer weather arrives a Run/Walk student training club will take place at the school.  In our community, the Diefenbooker Committee is sponsoring a 10 week Walking and  Running Clinic. Check our school website for details.

We Can Do This! The 22nd annual Diefenbooker Race takes place on Saturday May 5, 2018. Mark the date and help St. Michael’s compete in this great opportunity to enrich our literacy resources

Magazine and Cookie Dough Fundraiser

Thank you to all who purchased items last year, this was a great success. We are offering the same this month. Your children will come home with information on Tuesday, February 20th. Our campaign will run until the end of  March Break.


Hot Food and Milk

The new term for Hot Lunch and Milk will begin after March Break.  If you would like to order, please go onto School Cash On-Line and order by March 18th.  This is the final term that will go until the end of the school year.
